Sold out - New place is named "tavern On Cogswell". APparently will be a taver in the rear portion and a "sit down" restaruant in front, with the original Avanti Chef possible back on board.

it takes more than good food to have a successful restaurant. and that is about all cafe avanti has to offer. bad service, bad mangement. if you are in even the slightest hurry, cafe avanti is not the place for you. i have been several times and not once has it taken less than an hour to get my food. what are they doing back there? my first time dining at cafe avanti my server informed me that service would be a little slow because one of the cooks quit, and on another night i was told the entire dish crew quit. i think that can be chalked up to bad management. all in all i was not impressed.
Diminished qualtity

Having been a regular customers, we were disappointed in the recent visit on Valentines day. First, the hostess couldn't find our name on the reservation list, even though it was plainly visible, Second, after finding our confirmed reservation and were seated(at a table reserved for someone else), we discovered the COLD temperature in the restaurant. Third, drinks from the bar were reduced in size (almost 1/2 normal). The food service and quality of the food was, as usual, very good, as was the service of the person assigned to our table. Subtle changes in service over the past months provides a hint a deteriorating business. We hope the restaurant survives the recent loss of it's well liked owner, and the competition of new businesses in the growing community. Caf Avanti is an asset to the community.

The 'Nightly Features' are my favorite. They serve Filet Mignon, Grilled Tuna, Mediterranean Grouper and many other divine dishes. The service was superb and the ambiance is excellent.
